QRC 299
"A VERTICAL TWISTING TOWER WITH A PURPOSE TO SURROUNDINGS"
299 QRC is located at one end of Queen’s Road Central, serving as the connection between Central and Sheng Wan district. Connecting between mid-level and Sheng Wan, a future hub for commercial and cultural possibilities.
The dynamic form cuts away the volume at the ground floor levels, naturally forming a community hub dedicated to the surroundings, a gathering place in the day, and a landscaped park at night. The building skin stacks itself up with a twisting volume, through a single curved curtain wall system and aluminum fins. This distinct architectural feature not only adds visual interest to the building but also serves a practical purpose by providing shade and reducing solar heat gain, ensuring a comfortable and energy-efficient interior environment
The spatial capacity increases vertically, offering additional workspaces and a superior vantage point at the upper levels. The design solution adds increased economic value and improves the overall user experience. The full-height curtain wall is made around the office which offers a 180-degree panorama view, with sunlight penetrating the interior space
The shape twists from the bottom to the top, and extends gradually to the sky, with a double volume office space at the top. The elegant twist ignites the community and the district, for its social and commercial benefits
